www.wcsh6.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=88552BRUNSWICK (NEWS CENTER) -- This week, the Brunswick Naval Air Station is the base camp for a sports and science experiment unlike any other. Seven time X-Games medal winner Kevin Robinson is working to break a world record for flight on a BMX bicycle. A six story metal and fiberglass ramp has been constructed to help him reach that goal. "Sometimes I just sit there and come up with these ideas," said Robinson. "I open my mouth and the next thing I know I'm like, what did I get myself into?" Robinson has set up shop at BNAS to practice for the world recoed attempt, which will take place in New York City. The exploit will launch him over 54 feet into the sky. "The best way to explain being up that high is go to a five story building and look out and that's how it feels for me. You're looking down and that is pretty much what I see, except I have a ramp underneath me and a bike in my hand," said Robinson. The entire structure will be torn down and reconstructed in New York City for the record attempt on Thursday, June 12th. The event is being sponsored by Red Bull.
